    Description

Up for auction is this rare vintage program for THE BOB HOPE SHOW held May 19 1952 at the Long Beach Municipal Auditorium in Southern California. This was the 5th year and i believe it was a charity show. On the stage were Jerry Lewis & Dean martin still together. Bob Hope, Jane Russell, Marilyn Maxwell, The Bell Sisters, Jerry Colonna, Al Apaka, Hy Averback & Les brown and his band of Renown. Lots of neat ads also including ad for the Nu-Pike amusement park.  Also inside is a loose handbill for Les Brown and his band of Renown playing at the Lido ballroom on the NU-PIKE May 21 1952. The Nu-Pike was an amusement park with roller coaster, games, shops, restaurants, music and many rides and booths in Long Beach. It was open from 1902-1979. Many movies and TV shows were filmed at The Pike as a place to shoot scenes. It's in very good condition with a stain on the back. The rest is fine. The back advertises the Wilton hotel and the Sky Room. It was known to have many movie stars frequent it and was the place to go for a while. The previous owner's name is on title page and at top she writes who all attended the show with her. This is the 2nd one I have from their trip to the show.
