Description
Here is an excellent condition,1983 Jose Ramirez III
Indian Rosewood Classical Guitar Model 1A.
This is a top level professional concert grade Classical guitar. It was made in the Jose Ramirez workshop at Concepcion Jeronima 2, Madrid. The builder of the guitar was one of the very talented luthiers in the Ramirez workshop who was there for many years.
This is one of the legendary Ramirez 1A guitars from one of their better eras of classical guitar making. The design of the 1A was created by Jose Ramirez the Third, specifically for the requirements of Andres Segovia. The guitar is a splendid combination of Spanish and Orchestral tone.
The overall condition of the guitar is oustanding. There are no cracks of any sort in the back, top or side wood of the guitar. The finish is all original and there are a couple of crazing lines in the top of the guitar.
This hand crafted guitar was built using solid Indian rosewood for the back and sides, a cedar neck with ebony reinforcement and a solid western cedar top. The binding and headstock cap are made using fine rosewood. The guitar has the intricate rosette used on 1A models of this period.
Scale length on this guitar is 650 millimeters. This is a very comfortable scale with plenty of power. The nut width measures 54 millimeters.
The ebony fretboard is in excellent condition. The guitar has just been refretted. Action on the 12th fret low E string is 4.0 millimeters and the 12th fret high E string measures 3.0 millimeters.
This guitar is equipped with its original hand engraved gold Fustero tuners in very good condition.
The excellent condition original label is signed by Jose Ramirez III
This guitar will be carefully packed and shipped in a good condition hardshell case.
