Description

This lot contains used examples of five of the low denominations of the 1938 definitive (regular issue) stamps, known to collectors as the Prexies because each denomination pictured a different President - with the obvious exception of Martha Washington on the 1 1/2 cent value. These are some of the most common US stamps ever issued - billions of each value were printed and used. They have no collector value, thus the opening bid here of one penny. Some Ebay sellers, either through ignorance about stamp values or greed (or both) are offing examples of these stamps at absurd prices. They seem to have fallen into the "if I've never seen it, it must be worth a fortune" trap. Before anyone buys expensive stamps on Ebay, or anywhere else, they should be sure they aren't getting robbed.
Of course, if you are one of those people who really believe that these are extremely rare stamps, I've put a Buy it Now price of on the group. How can you pass up such a bargain?
